The Black Forest clockmaker Emilian Wehrle is responsible for this amazing flute clock. In addition to striking a bell on the hour and half hour, on the hour, a four inch high flute playing figure appears. Attached to a small platform which is pulled forward by tie rods connected to the doors, the flute player plays a tune via two ranks of wooden pipes — just the same design as you would find in an organ of the period.

The shorter 6 pipes are on one side of the movement, while the two longer pipes are on the other side. The brass plate movement was made around 1880.
